Who We Are
We are people like YOU!
We are friends and neighbors, parents and grandparents.
We have a passion for helping people enjoy and learn in our library. We support contributing to literacy and educating children and adults in our community. We believe that a quality library contributes to better-prepared students, business owners, and workers. Our members understand that enrichment benefits all of us personally and as a society.
About Us
The Friends are a 50l(c)3 organization that works to benefit the New Fairfield Free Public Library. We are a group of volunteers who are dedicated to promoting the library and enhancing its resources and services.
Mission
Statement
To stimulate the use of facilities of the library and encourage reading. To further the cultural life of New Fairfield in literature, the arts, sciences, and the public affairs by means of exhibits, public meetings, discussion, and similar activities.
Financial
The Friends support and raise money for the library. Since its inception in 1960, the Friends have given over $700,000 for library resources, the facility itself and various services. We do so through donations, memberships and fundraising activities.
